12.10.2013- Jean-Pierre Braganza SS14

Saturday, 12 October 2013

Another highlight of my London Fashion Week schedule was the Jean-Pierre Braganza presentation. Held in the BFC showspace at Somerset House, Braganza's SS14 show offered a very distinct series of contrasts, whether through opposing colourways, paneling effects or juxtaposition of shape. With a nod to nonchalant, modern dressing, an array of expertly constructed pieces came together to create a collection which captured a sleek, understated and effortless aesthetic:

Standout pieces for me included the designs which featured printed motifs, included to reference Native Canadian mythology, as well as the beautifully proportioned dresses which made their way down the catwalk. Masculine details such as tailored shorts and structured lines sat happily alongside feminine accent pieces including pops of pale pink and bow details, and I adored the simple black maxi dress which dominated the second half of the presentation- the waterfall skirt adding the perfect dramatic twist to Braganza's outlook on everyday dressing for next season.

What do you think of this collection?
