01.01.2016- On the Menu: Afternoon Tea at Sketch

Friday, 1 January 2016

For me, one of the greatest indulgences in life is afternoon tea. Although I never need an excuse to put the kettle on, there's something really special about taking a trip out to enjoy finger sandwiches, scones, cakes and all of the trimmings. From the Afternoon Tea Bus Tour to exploring the menu at Claridge's, I've always enjoyed sharing my tea and caked themed adventures with you on these pages, so when Michelle and Elodie came to London for a pre-Christmas get together with Hannah, Lily and I, there was a clear favourite amongst the destinations on offer- Sketch!

Sketch had been at the top of my foodie bucket list for what seemed like forever, so it was lovely to make a point of spending an afternoon there for a fabulously festive flavoured catch up. The decor (as showcased on many an Instagram snapshot!) is every bit as pretty in person; anything which makes you feel like you've suddenly been transported into a Wes Anderson film gets a massive thumbs up in my book! The service was outstanding and the food simply delicious- almost too pretty to eat! Particular highlights were the incredible coronation chicken sandwiches, cheese paninis, chocolate and mint gateaux and passion fruit tartlets.  More than that, the company was truly perfect and it was lovely to have a long overdue catch-up with some of the best blogging ladies ever (as well as hitting the ultra-hip loos for the obligatory snap..!)

Have you been to Sketch?
