Whilst regular readers will be well aware of the fact that I'm largely averse (nay, almost allergic) to high heels and largely tend to live in trainers, over the last few weeks a selection of smarter shoes have well and truly piqued my attention. The arrival of the warmer weather has provided me with the perfect excuse to shop around for some new styles, and freshening up my staple footwear favourites is something which I've been meaning to do for absolutely ages- particularly as I'm still clinging on to my old Converse which a) have definitely seen better days and b) don't actually fit that well anymore. As such, I've got my beady eyes keenly trained for some new season shoes:
Warehouse Pointed Heel Loafer, £65, ASOS/Karate Ballet Flat, £46, Topshop/Camille Pointed Flat, £89, Jigsaw/Florence Flat, £79.50, Boden/Bid Block Boots, £75, Office
These pointed heeled loafers from Warehouse are making me seriously reconsider my 'no heels' policy, especially as the block design gives them a really practical feel. I love the slightly androgynous style too, and think these would be a brilliant investment buy which I could team with lots of my smarter wardrobe staples. The humble ballet flat is a favourite which I return to season after season, and this silver pair from Topshop are another staple in waiting. If you're looking for a special take on a style essential, then you'd be hard pushed to go wrong with these copper flats from Jigsaw- perfect for everyday and as a staple for special occasions too.
I usually tend to forgo statement footwear in favour of staple choices which I know will see me through the day in blister-free style, but this bold printed pair from Boden are covetable enough to make me consider ditching my trainers for good. Finally, how glorious are these boots from Office?!! Whether you're after channelling a slice of 60s chic or fancy pepping up your day to day wardrobe, these are the ultimate spring style treat, don't you think?
Have you picked up any new footwear favourites recently?
