23.05.2016- Most Wanted: COS Cool

Monday, 23 May 2016

As I've mentioned in a few previous posts, there are a selection of shops which I only tend to visit sporadically for fear of snapping up everything in sight- and one such destination is COS. Over the years, I've picked up a fair selection of staples from this Scandi style sanctuary, and every time I pop in I fall head over heels in love with all of their latest offerings, becoming more and more determined to embrace a minimalist aesthetic and invest in some top notch basic buys. My most recent visit was no exception- and I'm already anticipating payday so that I can make a little dent in my current wishlist:

Cross Over V-Neck Denim Top, £59/Layered Sleeveless Top, £49/Cotton Silk Melange Skirt, £69/Shirt with Scalloped Hem, £49/Belted Split Level Dress, £89/Wrap Over Leather Sneaker, £89/Concrete Disc Necklace, £19/Press Stud Back Top, £59/Cropped Silk Shirt, £79/Unstructured Leather Backpack, £125, all COS.

This cross over top is one of those staple purchases which would well and truly pay cost-per-wear dividends, and it's a great investment buy for the summer too- just as easy to style with denim cut offs as it would be with culottes or jeans. At the slightly smarter end of the style spectrum is this gorgeous layered sleeveless top, which packs some serious understated punch- again another elegantly effortless piece which would prove a boon to any wardrobe. This summer, I'm determined to embrace the humble skirt more than I have of late, and this cotton style is a great basic to begin with- I love the practical touch which the pockets bring too.

Regular readers will know that I struggle to resist blue shirts, and this scalloped hem style is a definite prospective purchase in the making- especially with the Great British summer never proving a guarantee of good weather! A dress for all seasons comes in the shape of this glorious green split level design- a piece which is as versatile as it is simply stylish, and one which has unlimited outfit potential too. You can never go wrong with simple shoes in my book, and these wrap over sneakers tap into a distinctly Scandi sense of casual cool. With similarly simple accessorising in mind, this concrete disc necklace is a great option for adding an extra layer of detail to any outfit.

I've been searching high and low for some basic tops to stash in my wardrobe for a fair while now, and I'm sure that I'll be snapping up this stud back style in no time- another essential to see you from season to season in style. With block colours on the brain, this cropped silk shirt is another must have- and I can imagine it looking great teamed with a statement skirt for the summer, can't you? Finally (and because no wishlist post is complete without a bag in some shape or form!), this slouchy leather backpack- another excellent investment buy.

Are you a fan of COS?
