British summers, such as they are, always tend to be fleeting affairs, so when the sun does make an appearance it usually results in a frantic race to delve into your warm weather wardrobe and make the most of a spell without showers. Whilst my summer staples tend to sit safely in a drawer until I need pack my suitcase for a trip to the beach, over the last few weeks I've made the most of intermittent opportunities to give them a long overdue spell in the sunshine (especially as it's likely to be a little while before I'll be needing them again!)
Shirt- French Connection
You can't really go wrong with staple denim shorts, can you? Although it's taken me a little while to find the perfect pair, these ones from Zara have become a go-to for me for when the weather warms up, and the slightly more relaxed fit makes them the perfect casual option. This shirt from French Connection is another brilliant basic, and the ideal piece to reach for when the temperatures climb as it's so light and easy to wear. Plus, it'll be great to layer under some of my thicker knits when the inevitable chill starts...
