I don't know about you but I always tend to forget how much of a struggle January is! After the excitement (or in my case, flu filled frustration!) of the weeks leading up to Christmas, it always seems like a crushing anticlimax, with only weeks of chilly weather to wait out until the start of spring. Whilst hibernation seems like a hugely tempting prospect, alas it's a policy which no government has yet ratified (more's the pity!), so instead I'm trying to gee up January with some new splashes of colour in the style stakes:
Shirt- Oliver Bonas
Jeans- Weekday (via ASOS)
Shoes- Adidas (via Surfdome)
Bag- Skinnydip London
I realise that beating the January blues with the colour, erm, blue, is a little bit counter intuitive, but this coat from Zara was a sale purchase which was simply too good to resist. The colour is one which I've not really experimented with before, and so far we've struck up a fairly solid relationship- and it's always refreshing to swerve those darker winter staples in favour of something which packs a little bit more of a punch, don't you think? Here I layered it over another favourite in the shape of this glorious printed blouse from Oliver Bonas- accented with lots of pastel hues in anticipation of the arrival of spring. Here's hoping that we don't have too long to wait!
Have you picked up any essentials in the sales?
